Spring is here and “PRESSED” the latest show definitely has a spring feel to it.
We have a packed programme for the remainder of 2023
Edgelands – 26 May - 1 July
In our fourth show of 2023 we take you to the Edgelands, to the outskirts of urban civilisation where forgotten spaces and buildings and stark architectural forms create an intriguing, often barren landscape.
In this transitional zone between the urban and the rural, in these forgotten spaces where the ghosts of once used or unloved buildings stand, our four contributing artists find beauty.
James Sinfield
Cate Inglis
Bronwen Sleigh
Rowena Brown (Ceramics)
Horizons – 8 July - 26 August
We continue our programme with a show celebrating the stunning Scottish landscape and the extraordinary beauty of its coastlines. From bold, dramatic seascapes to subtle observations of the landscape, each of the six artists brings their own style to the show in their work but the common thread that runs through the exhibition is a deep appreciation of the natural wonders that Scotland holds.

We are excited to announce that our autumn show this year will bring together a diverse group of artists whose work is inspired by climate/environmental concerns. We are keen to highlight this extremely important issue and we are delighted to offer a platform for these artists to showcase their wonderful work.

Figurative – 14 October - 11 November
For our penultimate show of 2023 we bring you an exhibition of figurative art in which we place the spotlight on the human form and invite you to join us in appreciating the human figure in all its beauty and in pondering the human condition via the medium of art!

Solo show Lynsey MacKenzie - 14 October - 11 November
Running concurrently with our figurative show will be a solo show by our SSA Annual Exhibition prizewinner Lynsey Mackenzie. Lynseys’s incredible work ‘Musk Mallow’ stopped us in our tracks at the Preview of the SSA Annual Exhibition at the end of last year and we are delighted to hear that she has recently also been shortlisted for the Jackson’s Painting Prize 2023 for her painting ‘Skailwind’. We are very much looking forward to exhibiting her beautiful, energetic and uplifting work in the gallery this year.
Annual winter show - 18 November - 23 December
We round off the year with our annual winter show – a mixed group show with artworks from a wide selection of artists, some regular exhibitors and some new to the gallery!
As always this will be a delightful mix of different styles and media and we’re sure there will be something for every taste.
