It’s a new and exciting distinctive phase of Contemporary Art and creativity in Dundee. While Duncan of Jordanstone for generations has nurtured new talent the 2018 master graduates are making new and exciting ground as a collective group. Having already exhibited their work together in an ambitious and entrepreneurial exhibition at West Ward works in September 2018, we are delighted to support this exciting group of artists in their endeavour to make their mark on the British Art scene. Their work is characterised by their open (multi-disiplinary) approach to process and materials something that can be partly attributed to the structure of the MFA program at DOJ.
There is no need for a manifesto dictating the ideas of this group, as individuals they each have something unique to say and communicate, but what does underpin their collective spirit is the passion and enthusiasm with which they approach their art.
Be prepared to see something new, to open your mind to the creativity and to be inspired. This exhibition is brave, and we are thrilled to support this resolute and exciting new Dundee art movement.
