Artist Statement
‘My artwork celebrates cultural hybridity and transnationality. My paintings are influences by the cultures and places that I feel rooted in and have routed through, namely Scotland, England, Japan, Canada, and Australia. I compose amalgamated yet fragmented landscapes, informed by me real and imagined memories. Figures journey through these landscapes; their micro journeys reflect the macro migration paths taken by myself and my family.
