McClure's process involves finding a balance between the conceptual idea and the physical form; focusing more on shape, layered surface, and manipulated perspective. By treating each finished piece as a blueprint for the next, my work is a continual progression and intuitive exploration of itself. McClure's inspiration source is vast and ever changing, especially during the pandemic - this particular body of work was inspired by her memory of interior space she has been in, especially from spending more time indoors these past couple of years. Often the finished piece is unrecognisable to what inspired it. Presenting the viewer with the freedom to observe her work and have their own interpretation is important to McClure - they are an escape, a look into another space.
