Kirsty MacDonald

Scottish culture and the world of plants lie at the heart of my art practice. I focus on how plants affect our culture, identity, and life, working directly with them to create sustainable and natural mediums, which I then weave into a storytelling narrative through the creation of paintings and sculptural forms that display plants with cultural significance in relation to my research in a way that highlights them.

Natural pigments and sustainability have become a large part of my practice, and these artworks show just the beginning of my journey into developing my craft professionally. I am dedicated to evolving my practice into something unique that speaks to the world of plants and Scottish culture on a deeper level.
