Thomas Houlihan is an artist from Glasgow, Scotland. His practice stems from an investigation into drawing as means of communication. Thoughts, feelings, desires, and experiences find form on the page via gestural, expressive mark making. He works quickly, blurring the lines between painting and drawing.
The artist draws inspiration from the immeasurable weight of the everyday, and the vast networks of human lives. The great spiders-web of decisions made, paths crossed, stories, experiences, and heart strings, all tangled into one. The figures in his paintings navigate the intricate and tumultuous landscapes of human relationships.
The artist is an award-winning graduate from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and is currently studying at the Royal Drawing School.
