Peter Regent worked as a full-time sculptor from 1975 but he has been involved with the practice of painting and sculpture from boyhood. As an undergraduate he spent time at the Ruskin School of Art, oxford and he studied at a Paris Académie before working in African administration, in political research and publishing and in various academic posts that culminated in ten years as founding Head of department of Liberal & Complementary Studies at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. Throughout this mixed career he was painting and making sculpture. Regent worked in the traditional materials of wood, clay/cast metal and in stone.
Work is held in private and public collections in the UK and private collections in USA, Canada, Finland, Switzerland & Germany
